AKM spray pattern

In Escape from Tarkov, the AKM climbs about 14.0° while its sideways kick changes from spray to spray inside roughly 6.0° — learn the climb and react to the side kick. Here's the shape, the numbers, and how to control it — then drill it into muscle memory on SprayTrace.

AKM recoil control path — Escape from Tarkovaim Training model

One possible mouse path. The downward pull is the same on every spray; the sideways movement is different each time.

The numbers

GameEscape from Tarkov
ClassRifle
Fire rate600 RPM
Magazine30 rounds
Vertical recoil14.0° climb
Horizontal recoil~6.0°, random per shot
Full spray~3.0s (30 rounds)
Recoil reset0.45s off trigger

Escape from Tarkov adds a random sideways kick on top of its climb, so there is no fixed spray to plot. Fire rate and magazine are the game's own figures; the climb and width are estimates for training.

How to control it

Controlling the AKM spray

  1. Pull down to cancel the climb. The AKM rises about 14.0° over its first burst — drag straight down to keep the crosshair on target as it climbs.
  2. React to the side kick, don't lead it. The sideways kick changes from spray to spray, inside about 6.0°. Keep the downward pull steady and correct each kick as it arrives.
  3. Reset between bursts. Recoil fully resets after about 0.45s off the trigger — tap-fire or burst at range, spray up close.
  4. Drill the climb, not a shape. At 600 RPM a full 30-round spray plays out in ~3.0s. SprayTrace's Wander drill keeps the climb fixed and re-rolls the sideways kick every run, so you train the reaction instead of a path that will not repeat.
